Kristine Velez is originally from Bucks County,
Pennsylvania. Studied and received her BS at Delaware Valley College for
Agronomy and Environmental Sciences, and minored in Conservation and Wildlife
Management. Her experience encompasses the American Southwest and Alaska. This
is her third AmeriCorps term; first served at SAGA based out of Anchorage,
Alaska secondly completing the Professional Development Member training with
ACE in Flagstaff, Arizona and currently employed by NV Conservation Corps. Majority
of Kristine’s experience is in ecological restoration and trail
construction/maintenance. She hopes to continue working on projects in the
field while becoming more knowledgeable about land/resource management
procedures and development. The favorite moments in life include 1) Hiking
backcountry in Denali National Park in bear country 2)Rafting down the Grand
Canyon on the Colorado River 3) Standing atop Northern Arizona’s highest peak,
Mount Humphrey’s, in Flagstaff.
